The Video College

The Video College was set up through a local residents' association in 1994 to give people of all ages an opportunity to train in one of the most vital areas of film making. Once we've re-established a group of interested and committed young people, we'll again be opening up after school, Saturdays and on holidays. Ready to Work in Film 2015 was developed to focus on the needs of the film industry and of eight 18-24 year olds (four women and four men) from black, Asian and ethnic minority communities who are serious about working in UK film.

The six-month film training programme will be followed by industry placements and a screening. It will help to redress the current under-representation in creative, technical and production grades of the UK film workforce of women, people from minority, economically disadvantaged groups, including those who are disabled. It will also identify, develop and fast-track new and diverse talent that can reach and communicate with new audiences.
